I spent a long time moving fast. Maré is what I reached for when I finally wanted to slow down — and couldn't find objects that helped me do it. So I started making them.
Maré means tide in Portuguese, and that's the whole idea in one word: come in slowly, leave lighter. Everything we make is built to lower the volume of a day and hand a little presence back to you.
Two places shape it. From Japanese design, I take restraint — the belief that beauty doesn't announce itself, that empty space is a feature, that one well-made object can hold more than a room full of things. From Brazil, I take warmth and the sea — an unhurried way of living, the calm of the coast, presence as a default rather than a luxury.
